GRACIE’S GREAT ADVENTURES are based on the life of a real dog. Gracie is a mix of Labrador and Shar-Pei. She was born in 1995 and was later adopted from the Greenhill Humane Society in Eugene, Oregon. She lives with Maryl Barker, the author, and goes to work with her every day. In her spare time, Gracie enjoys swimming, hiking, chasing snakes, eating ice cream cones, and spending time with friends. Arnold works in a recycling center. He enjoys joining Gracie for some of her adventures.	Gracie’s friend, Clarence, is an adventurous snake who lives in the field behind Gracie’s office.
